The Cycle Mechanic - Professional Bike Maintenance & Repair
WHAT WE DO
The Cycle Mechanic, established in 2008, is probably the Lancaster area's best kept secret as most of our work comes via word of mouth. Although we have the capability to work on any type of bike we have chosen to specialise in working on mid to top end road bikes. If you're serious about triathlon, road racing, time trials, sportives or touring then we can help.
The Cycle Mechanic has been servicing bicycles for over 48 years and has been operating this business for over 9 years. The Cycle Mechanic is a City & Guilds Qualified Bicycle Mechanic and Workplace Trainer & Assessor.
We're located a few minutes off Cycle Route 90 (Lancashire Cycleway Northern Loop) at Brookhouse in the Lune Valley.
HOW WE WORK
We operate by appointment from our fully fitted workshop in the Lune Valley. Here's how it works:
- Give us a call on 01524 932032 or drop us an email.
- We'll discuss with you what you need doing to your bike and give an estimate.
- Drop your bike off by arrangement at our fully fitted workshop. We can be flexible on drop off and collection times outside of normal working hours.
- We'll keep you advised of timescales and cost at all stages.
- We'll let you know by SMS and e-mail as soon as your bike is ready to collect.
We're not like a bike shop where you can just turn up. Everything is done by appointment to ensure we can give you and your bike our undivided attention.
Payment can be made by cash, debit or credit card. We give a 10% discount off our labour charges if you can prove membership of British Cycling, Cycling UK, NLTTA or a local Lancaster & Morecambe cycling or triathlon club (LRCC, LCC, SACS, COLT, Dynamo, Lancaster Bunnies).
We provide a wide range of service options for your bike from a full strip-down and rebuild to simply repairing a puncture. We are also wheel specialists and can build, true and repair wheel sets.
Got an important event on tomorrow and just found a problem with your bike? We'll do our best to assist. As long as we're available, this includes out of hours assistance for our regular clients.
Don't feel confident dealing with roadside repairs or fixing a puncture? We're happy to provide one to one tuition at our workshop so that you have the skills you need. You set the agenda, we supply the knowledge.
One more thing...
The Cycle Mechanic is fully insured so your bike is safe in our care. We also stock common spares and can obtain a wider range at competitive prices. We mainly use Jagwire cables and SwissStop brake pads.
